Skincare Sundays :: Mario Badescu Peptides

I'm always looking for good anti-aging face products so when Mario Badescu came out with their two new peptide facial products, I had to try them. I've been using both the Peptide Renewal Cream and the Peptide Renewal Serum together daily and have been loving them equally. As an introduction into peptides and peptide skincare, peptides are amino acids that make up the proteins in the skin. It's important to incorporate peptides into skincare because peptide serums and creams help to encourage the skin to rebuild lost collagen, which make skin appear firmer, younger, and smoother.

The first product is the Peptide Renewal Serum. This serum is great for dry or mature skin and is packed full of youth-boosting peptides and botanicals. Sorghum Bicolor Stalk Juice helps skin appear smoother and more toned while White Willow Bark contributes to a clearer, more radiant complexion. This serum also contains skin soothing ingredients such as Chamomile, Yarrow, and Aloe Vera. I personally love this serum. As you can see from the picture, it's a clear liquid that is easily dispensed by way of the dripper cap. The texture is interesting, you would expect it to be very watery or gel like, but it's actually slightly thick and the tiniest bit sticky. It's not oily and doesn't leave the skin feeling sticky so I don't mind the texture, but it's definitely a texture that I haven't yet experienced in skincare.

However I like this serum for a couple of reasons. First it leaves my skin feeling good after I put it on. Second I always wake up to clearer, plumper, and calmer looking skin. And lastly, some of this stuff accidentally got into my mouth don't ask me how, I don't know and it was actually really sweet which must mean the ingredients must be good for the skin!

The second product is the Peptide Renewal Cream. I use this over the Peptide Serum and it gives an extra boost of anti-aging goodness. This cream fights fine lines and sagging with Nori Extract and Sorghum Bicolor Stalk Juice. I also love how this cream has Hyaluronic Acid which helps the skin retain moisture banishing any signs of dry or flaky skin. This cream doesn't have a strong scent and glides on pretty smoothly. It's not too thick but I would say it's definitely better suited for the colder months, which is perfect since we're now entering Fall!
