black maxi dress, black blazer, nude coach satchel
I don't think I would ever wear a maxi dress to work, at least on its own - it's just a little too casual for most offices. But with a little help and some creativity, there's no reason why I wouldn't try it!
I think it's self explanatory why I would opt for a black blazer up top. But since the entire look is going to end up being black, I went for a black blazer with faux leather accents. This keeps all the black interesting. A simple black necklace also dresses up the plain maxi.
The bottom half of the dress is what concerns me. Long skirts and dresses just don't look or feel office appropriate, but if you tie the bottom of your skirt/dress into a simple knot, your problems are solved. Plus, the knotted look down below has been popping up quite a bit!
And of course, for the bag, I chose my favorite nude tote - it keeps all the black from being too dark and heavy during the warmer months.
