black maxi dress, printed pants, coach classic shoulder bag
I think it's great to stretch your closet. Turn dresses into skirts, shirts into jacket, etc. That's part of the reason why I started these '5 Ways To Wear' posts; I needed something to help push my recycling creativity.
This black maxi night owl look is one of those looks that pushes the limits of your closet. A quick tuck turns the maxi into a classic black top ready for a night out.
I know you're probably thinking that there must be a lot of fabric bunching from the dress that I've somehow hidden for pictures. Good guess, but no. The trick here is to pick a pair of pants that are loose and slouchy. There's plenty of leg room in these printed pants that help store the excess dress fabric that I've tucked away! And because the pants are so loose, the dress fabric doesn't bunch, the outfit remains comfortable, and I've got myself a new shirt!
I've been getting so much wear out of these Prabal Gurung x Target lace up heels that I've officially decided these lace up black heels are a closet staple.
Keep the accessories simple and that's all there is to this look.
Happy Friday, and I'm so excited it's the weekend!!
