neon yellow shirt, white tank, black faux leather skirt, steve madden raelynn, metallic silver clutch
Neon yellow, my favorite neon to wear and one of the best colors possible for a night out. But when neon yellow takes on the form of a conservative daytime button up, things can get a bit tricky for the night owl.
My solution: wear the shirt as a jacket.
Since the shirt was already so bright, I wanted to keep everything else simple - as simple as my favorite white cotton tank and a $12 black faux leather skirt. You can easily turn your tank from loose & comfy into going out chic by knotting the front. It crops and cinches the tank in no time, better than your tailor could ever do in 2 minutes.
The best part is, once you throw on the neon yellow shirt, you won't even have to bring a bulky jacket that you never end up wearing because of the inconvenience of keeping track of it. How many times have you frozen your butt off wishing that you had something to throw over your outfit without looking completely covered up? Now you know the secret.
For accessories, my recommendation is definitely metallics. Eye catching but still neutral enough that it won't clash with the neon yellow.
I'm kind of digging the knotted shirt look, can you tell?
Here's to wishing today was Friday!
Happy hump day everyone!
