Skincare Sundays :: True Beauty Box

a review for an all natural, monthly beauty box

Monthly subscription beauty boxes are quite popular and I have to admit that the idea of dabbling around with multiple products without commitment is pretty tempting. Of course I've got my holy grails   that are always fully stocked and backed up, but I also love switching up my skincare, haircare, and makeup. Problem is subscriptions like Birchbox, Beauty Box 5 don't always offer all natural products I try to go natural when I can, it's better for animals, the environment, and your skin. Enter True Beauty Box, why I didn't know about them sooner, I don't know.

True Beauty Box is a monthly subscription service just like Birchbox or Beauty Box 5, but the difference is that the products are all natural and you get FULL SIZE products, not samples - and of course, your box is individually tailored to your beauty profile. Pretty amazing I know.

Based on my beauty quiz, I was sent the Flirt Box which contained the Benecos Nail Polish in Sharp Rose, Lavera Tinted Moisturizer in Natural, Lavera Mattifying Mineral FInish Powder, Sassy Knots Hair Tie, and some additional samples.

First up was the Lavera Mattifying Mineral Finish Powder. This is an earth-pure mineral powder that gives a soft, velvety finish. It contains organic jojoba and calendula extracts, which moisturize and soothe the skin. This powder was light, gave a flawless complexion and didn't leave me looking like powder girl. Loved it.

The Benecos nail polish is 5 free your average Butter London or OPI polish is only 3 free. It's free of Formaldehyde, Toluene, Camphor, Phthalates, and Colophony. Sharp Rose is a baby pink with fine shimmer - it applied smoothly and was opaque with just 2 coats!

My last product was the Lavera Tinted Moisturizer. It's 100% natural with nourishing vitamins, minerals and organic Aloe Vera. My biggest complaint about this product was that it took too many pumps in the beginning to get any product out of the container. However once I was able to get the product out, I fell in love. The product comes out slightly dark but blends quickly and effortlessly to match your skin tone. It absorbed quickly, felt extremely light might be too light if you have dry skin!, and evened out my skin nicely. It has a matte finish and doesn't leave you feeling oily or cakey.

If you are looking for a product with medium to full coverage with all day lasting power, this is probably not for you, but it's great for those who just need a little something something to even out slight imperfections.

And of course, I loved my sassy knots hair tie. Doesn't snag my hair, doesn't leave a crease, and it looks cute. Not much to complain about.

So if you're a natural beauty junkie like me, try out true beauty box - you might just get addicted to these monthly beauty subscriptions!

  6. Lavera products are really good, I like green apple shampoo. Unfortunately I'm allergic to Aloe, so I cannot use some natural and organic products. But I'm gonna check true beauty box.
