5 Ways To Wear A Red Skirt :: ONE Lumberjill Red

gingham shirt, rose gold necklace, cream scalloped clutch, red faux leather skirt, cognac booties, fur vest

Colored jeans, especially red jeans, are one of my favorite things to wear. Red jeans always become increasingly popular as spring rolls around the corner - perhaps it's the nautical appeal or just the bright burst of color, but either way people love it. What often gets overlooked in the frantic frenzy that is red pants, is the red pencil skirt. It's more sophisticated than its popular cousin but can still play it casual when the weekend calls and of course, it doesn't disappoint in delivering the highly sought after burst of color.

So you've probably deduced by now that this week's feature is the red skirt. Mine is a faux leather one from Forever 21 and don't be fooled, red bottoms aren't only for the spring - you'll see as this weeks plays out!

One of the easiest things to pair with a red skirt, or red pants, is a blue and white gingham shirt. Roll the sleeves up to avoid looking stuffy.

A fur vest helps add both dimension to the look and a layer of warmth in the winter.

Add a neutral colored, sparkly necklace to keep the focus on the skirt while injecting a little "Jill" into a very lumberjack inspired outfit!

Episode one of red skirt complete. If you wanted to wear this look for work yes a red skirt can be work appropriate! just swap the gingham shirt and fur vest for a solid colored shirt and a blazer and you're good to go. See a work look here
