black sweater, red skirt, april reno jewelry, alexander wang diego, black tumbled leather heels
One last, good look at this red skirt.
Sometimes less is more and that's exactly why I love this look. It's simple and doesn't require much, but it makes a statement. Not to mention, this outfit could easily work for a day out with the girls or a night out with the guy. To begin, all you need is a loose, baggy black top. I've settled on a roomy black sweater to keep me cozy since I'm keeping it bare on the bottom half.
For the shoes, I went with some cutout, textured, leather heels for an edgy, modern vibe - but you could also go for black booties which give the same feel.
Now here's where the key to the outfit lies, accessories. Because the outfit is so simple, you are really relying on the accessories to carry the outfit. You need something bold and opinionated to make a statement. These April Reno pieces from Unique Indie do just that and more. I'm loving the antique gold finish to keep the black and red looking classy, large stones to make the statement, and intricate details to add luxurious, girly glam always a must in my book, always.
Grab an edgy black bag and you've got yourself a look that's unique, with a hint of indie chic.
P.S. keep the hair effortlessly messy.
And that's a wrap for this week's 5 ways to wear a red skirt. I hope you all enjoyed it as much as I did putting it together. If you need something to do indoors this weekend like I will since it's going to rain check out Unique Indie. The April Reno pieces featured in this outfit are on sale!
Nothing like a good sale on investment pieces to kick start the weekend - Happy Friday from yours truly!

Skirt is something that I don't own a lot.. somehow I always feel that I am not cut for skirt, not feminine enough.. this look instead is simple and casual enough even for a shopping trip in town.. love the necklace by the way..
