Skincare Sundays :: Holiday Hair

make a bangin' entrance in style

From left to right c/o bangstyle :: Volumizing Conditioner, Light Sea Salt Mist, Volumizing Shampoo

Every year when holiday party time rolls around, I develop a little anxiety. Finding the right outfit is easy but getting the perfect party hair is where easy ends. I have fine, limp hair that resists any and all of my antics to try and give it some life. I've tried volumizing products, crimping my roots, and curling my hair. Curls would unravel within the hour, crimped roots produce a Snooki effect not exactly the type of volume I'm looking for, and volumizing products, well I haven't had any luck with any.

This year I had decided to go for a Moriticia Addams kind of look for the sake of time and effort not to mention I can almost 100% guarantee my desired result with a straight hair look, that is until I came across Bangstyle. I sat there, staring at my computer screen for 10 minutes, unsure of what I was feeling at that moment. I sensed some sort of hopefulness, that Bangstyle products might actually work for me, but also annoyance - was I really going to get suckered into another line of potentially ineffective volumizing products?

My "never give up" attitude got the better of me and boy am I glad it did. Let me break it down.

I am loving this set for a few reasons. First, this shampoo and conditioner well all Bangstyle shampoos and conditioners really  boasts an impressive formula that leaves out sulfates, parabens, and sodium chloride - what does this mean? It's good for your hair and it's safe for color treated hair. Second, a little goes a long way. Even though the shampoo is sulfate free, there is no compromise to lather quality - suds up! After using the shampoo and conditioner, my hair felt sleek, tangle free, and squeaky clean. I have to be honest here and say that I didn't see quite as much of a change in volume as I would have liked to. However, I would definitely restock because of the formula and the way my hair felt after using it. Ok and I'll admit, the scent of the conditioner got me. It has a coconut, faint sunscreen type of smell and I'm a sucker for a light sunscreen smell - it's summer in a bottle, the beach in a hot shower.

Ok this is where I really fell for Bangstyle. This sea salt mist is the best sea salt mist I have ever used, and believe me I've tried a lot. I'm always looking for a sea salt spray to add texture and volume to my hair but they always end up being too crunchy, too smelly, too light, too oily looking on my hair, or too heavy. Bangstyle's Light Sea Salt Mist is perfection. There's a light initial scent that fades quickly and becomes virtually undetectable to the unaided human nose - something I can appreciate since I don't have to worry about a potential clash with my perfume. A few spritzes post curling adds just enough texture, softens ringlets to the perfect loose curl, and surprisingly, holds the effortless wave all day without making my hair look oily or crunchy. I wore my hair curly everyday last week check last week's posts for proof! because of this mist, I can't get enough of those loose, volume-y waves I've been chasing for so long.

Forget Morticia Addams. I'm going back to glam for the holidays, especially now that I've figured out how to achieve it.

P.S. check out the new Bangstyle App here. You can use it to browse thousands of hairstyles and create a personalized portfolio, especially useful for those moments at the stylist's and she doesn't quite know what kind of look you're asking for!
