Last night Andrew aka Photog Boy and I caught the tail end of the tree Christmas tree, is that obvious? lighting ceremony at our local outdoor shopping center. We stumbled upon it by accident.
As we cruised to the intersection to make a right turn into the parking garage, we stopped short of actually completing the turn. Orange rubber and police men replaced the usual welcoming arrow beckoning us to park our cars and empty our wallets. Confused, we followed flailing arms that directed us to park across the street.
Post parking, we were ushered by the unexpected Tuesday night crowd to our, and apparently their, original destination across the street. It was only after flagging down a police officer to find enlightenment on the night's commotion and roped parking did we discover that our humble H&M trip to exchange a hat had apparently led us to the 'it' event of the night, the annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony. Carolers, Santas on stilts, and holiday lights plastered every inch of the street.
It must be official then judging from last night's bash, we officially have social permission to get excited for Christmas. I guess I'll start by pulling out my snowflake hat.
